Rodriguez is suspected of killing 29-year-old Larry Duran Jr., a barber working in the North Hills district in the San Fernando Valley region. Rodriguez On Saturday, November 28, 2009, at approximately 1:00 p.m., Julio Rodriguez walked into the barbershop where Duran cut hair and began arguing with the man. Rodriguez then demanded Duran go with him in his car. Duran and Rodriguez left the barbershop. Rodriguez took Duran to a nearby alley in the 9100 block of Woodley Avenue. At 1:26 p.m., Duran is believed to have attempted to escape, but Rodriguez pulled out a handgun and fired several times. Duran was stuck in the head by one of the shots, killing him instantly at the scene. Julio Rodriguez then fled the area in a grey 2010 Ford Focus.
