The victim was shot in head then beaten before left for dead.August 26, 2010 TEXAS FUGITIVE NEWS -- Victor Hugo Tarin has eluded arrest for his involvement in the murder of Jose Luis Castillo Jr., on April 1, 2006, in Baytown, Texas. Tarin and his accomplice, Calvin Paul Carmona, were both charged several weeks after Castillo's death with his murder. Carmona was eventually arrested and chose to plead guilty to the crime. Carmona received a sentence of 25 years' imprisonment for his part in the murder. However, Tarin continues to remain a most wanted fugitive at large.
Additionally, it is believed that Castillo, the 33-year-old father of two children, was shot in the head and then beaten by his killers. On the night of the murder, Baytown police responded to 911 reports of a gunshot on Pine St at about 3:00 a.m. Officers found Castillo lying on the ground wounded and unconscious. Castillo was then transported to San Jacinto Methodist Hospital, where he later died. Fugitive murderer, Victor Hugo Tarin, should be considered armed and dangerous. He is described as:
