Jose Comacho a.k.a Homero Alvares Salgado is a subject in a nationwide manhuntILLINOIS FUGITIVE NEWS -- A most wanted fugitive for murder, Jose Comacho, has eluded Schaumburg, Illinois law enforcement since May 25, 2001. After identified as the alleged perpetrator in a Chicagoland murder, Comacho became the subject of a nationwide manhunt coordinated by the FBI Chicago when he was charged in June 2001, with one count of Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution by a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Chicago.
According to Schaumburg police, on May 26, 2001, the body of Flavio Venancio was found floating in a retention pond approximately 125 feet north of the railroad tracks at Schaumburg's Metra Train Station by workers spraying for mosquitoes. Autopsy results determined Flavio Venancio had been beaten, stabbed and then drowned. It is believed that on the day of Venancio's murder, he befriended his neighbor, Jose Comacho. The two men proceeded to consume an unknown amount of alcohol, which later led to an argument that ended in Venancio death. Jose Comacho last known address was 2335 Glendale Terrace in Hanover Park, Illinois. However, Comacho could have fled anywhere since the murder in May 2001. Comacho is also known as Homero Alvarez Salgado, and has a tattoo with "Veronica solo tu un anhelo" inked on his left inner arm. He is believed to have relatives in Anaheim, California. Furthermore, Jose Comacho has no known prior criminal record and it should be noted a criminal complaint is not evidence of guilt. This alleged killer should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Lastly, Robert D.
