Indiana Homicide Fugitive

Drug Dealer shoots three customers during sale, killing one.

INDIANA FUGITIVE NEWS -- Michael Anthony Lane Jr. a.k.a. "Little Mike" is most wanted by Evansville, Indiana police for murder, two counts of attempted murder, and conspiracy to deal a controlled substance. It is alleged that on January 5, 2010, Michael Anthony Lane Jr. met with three men in order to sell them illegal drugs in the parking lot of the Woodland Apartments located in the 2600 block of Lodge Avenue, south of the Riverside Historic District. The drug deal turned into a deadly attack leaving one man dead and two wounded.

According to Police, At approximately 8:30 p.m., Michael Anthony Lane Jr. met with Michael Hooper Sr., Jason Derrington and Frank Hurst, who were waiting in a car in the parking lot. Lane climbed into the vehicle and an argument ensued. Lane brandished a firearm. When the three men attempted to flee the car, Lane started shooting at the running men. Lane wounded both Derrington and Hurst, but killed 38-year-old Michael Hooper Sr. Additionally, one of the victims was armed, and he returned fire. It is unknown if he wounded Lane.

The two survivors of the attack, Jason Derrington and Frank Hurst were seriously injured. Both men were transported to Saint Mary's Hospital in Evansville, and are cooperating with police.

Moreover, Corporal Steve Green of the Evansville Police Department is quoted by as saying, "It helps the investigation out a lot. As you know a lot of times when drugs are involved, we don't get a lot of cooperation. There's a lot of cooperation going on now, so it shouldn't be long before we will be able to locate this person."

So far, Michael Anthony Lane Jr., has managed to elude arrest. However, Lane has been arrested in the past for cocaine charges, and no doubt has an addiction to the illegal drug. He also has several distinguishing tattoos:

  • The slang word "Trill" is inked on his right forearm.
  • The name "Cora" is inked on his right wrist.
  • On his left forearm the word "One" is tattooed.
  • While on his left wrist, the letters "Rosanid" is tattooed.

This Indiana fugitive has also used the alais "Michael Tyran Davis" He is further described as:

  • Height: 67 inches
  • Weight: 145 pounds
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Hair: Black
  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Black
