Latin Kings, Orlando Diaz AKA "Pony" or "Psycho" shot two men New Year's eveCHICAGO FUGITIVE NEWS A most wanted fugitive killer, Orlando Diaz, has eluded Chicago law enforcement since New Year's Eve 2006, after shooting two men, wounding one and killing another. Charges were filed against Diaz in Cook County Circuit Court for First Degree Murder, and charges for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution followed when investigators discovered Diaz had fled Illinois.
At approximately 1:15 a.m. on January 01, 2007, a known Latin Kings gang member, Orlando Diaz, shot Ricardo Martinez and Raul Ramirez in the driveway of a Gage Park neighborhood home located in the 2900 block of West 54th Street. Ricardo Martinez was shot in the hand and survived his injuries. However, Raul Ramirez was shot multiple times and died of the fatal gunshots inflicted by Diaz. The motive for the shooting is considered gang-related. Raul Ramirez, lived on the 5115 South Homan Avenue and was 26-years-old at the time of his murder, whereas, Orlando Diaz lived on 5535 South California Avenue. Therefore, both men lived within a mile of each other.
