Aaron Morales is the suspected gunman in a drive-by shooting near Highland Park in Omaha Nebraska.May 28, 2010 OMAHA FUGITIVE NEWS -- Fifteen-year-old Eric Tongvanh laid comatose in Creighton University Medical Center for seven days before succumbing to wounds sustained from a drive-by shooting. During the homicide investigation, Omaha Police identified Aaron Morales as the shooter, and a criminal warrant for 1st Degree Murder and Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony was issued for the defendant's arrest. Nonetheless, more than a year has past since the shooting and Morales still remains a fugitive at large.
On Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at approximately 5:13 p.m., Omaha Police officers responded to the parking lot of Walgreens Pharmacy at 3121 South 24th Street regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Eric Tongvanh suffering from a gunshot wound. The teenager was then transported to Creighton University Medical Center and remained in critical condition until his family chose to discontinued life support. According to witnesses, Eric Tongvanh, his sister and friends, were sitting in a Chevy sport utility vehicle parked near Highland Park when a car pulled along side, and allegedly Aaron Morales opened fire. A bullet struck Tongvanh and the car sped away. Tongvanh's friends rushed the injured boy to the local Walgreens Pharmacy where police were called.
