Chicago street gang killer at largeILLINOIS FUGITIVE NEWS -- A Latin Saints street gang member, Filberto Bravo is most wanted for the homicide of Juan Olmedo who was a passenger in a vehicle when he was shot to death. Olmedo was traveling in the 1300 block of West 49th Street, located in the "Back of the Yards" neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The Back of the Yards is a known territory for criminal activity perpetrated by Latin Saints street gang members.
Charged in Cook County Circuit Court with First Degree Murder, Bravo was arrested and released on bond pending trial. However, Bravo failed to appear at a scheduled court appearance and is now being sought by Chicago FBI's Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF), after he was charged Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution. Bravo is believed to have fled Illinois in late 2001. According to police, on September 23, 2001, Filberto Bravo was driving his vehicle on West 49th Street when his cousin, Crisino Bravo exchanged gang signs with rival gang's vehicle. Crisino Bravo, believing the other vehicle belonged to members of Folks alliance, then fired six shots into the vehicle hitting Olmedo in the head with one round. Crisino Bravo was apprehended and charged with firing the shots that killed Juan Olmedo. Filberto Bravo is described as:
