Carlos Luis Pinales-Mejia cruelly left his victim to die alone.May 2, 2010 SC Fugitive News -- Carlos Luis Pinales-Mejia is a most wanted fugitive for murder in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Pinales-Mejia is suspected of killing 22-year-old Amber Marie Schiavone on January 30, 2008, in the Cherry Grove Apartments in the 1000 block of Hearn St.
It is believed that Schiavone was acquainted with Pinales-Mejia, and went to meet the man at his apartment in the Cherry Grove complex. It is also known that Schiavone arrived at Pinales-Mejia's apartment early Wednesday morning. However, Schiavone was found dead in the hallway of Mejia's apartment by the fugitive's girlfriend at approximately 5:00 p.m.. Therefore, it can be assumed that after shooting his victim, Pinales-Mejia cruelly left the girl to die alone. Amber Marie Schiavone (pictured below) was well liked and loved by her friends and family. Petite in size, it is inconceivable that this young woman could have presented herself as a threat to her killer, and the motive for Pinales-Mejia's attack remains unknown. 22-year-old Amber Marie
Schiavone victim of murder Schiavone's killing marked the first four homicides in Rock Hill for 2008. Located in York County, South Carolina. The population in Rock Hill is approximately 70,000 people. Those that work, mostly commute 23 miles to Charlotte, North Carolina for employment. The community in all is relatively quiet with little violent crime. Additionally, Mejia was arrested and released on Bond for a criminal charge of assault and battery stemming from an incident at a Rock Hill area nightclub on December 14, 2007. More disturbingly, Mejia is purportedly from the Dominican Republic and may have been illegally residing in the United States at the time of the murder. Therefore, once again we have another fugitive that may have, or is in the process of fleeing the country.
