Jose R. Gonzales is a fugitive shooter with $3,000 Reward for his arrestDecember 26, 2010 NEW MEXICO FUGITIVE NEWS -- The U.S. Marshals Service and the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office are searching for an alleged killer, Jose R. Gonzales, who is suspected of fatally shooting 45-year-old Vicente Ancho Gomez. Additionally, a combined reward of $3,000 has been offered between Crimes Soppers and Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office for information leading to the arrest of Jose R. Gonzales. In order for individuals to collect the reward, the information must be reported through the Crime Stoppers tip line at 505-955-5050.
Reportedly, on May 9, 2009, a Santa Fe resident notified police of what was believed to be a bullet hole leading into his home from an adjacent apartment. Police responded Cedar Creek Apartments in the 3800 block of Airport Road and discovered Vicente Gomez fatally shot next door to the caller. Further investigation identified Jose R. Gonzales as the suspect killer. In time an arrest warrant was issued charging Gonzales with an Open Count of Murder and Tampering with Evidence. Furthermore, an Open Count of Murder allows for the degree of felony to be determined at a later date, and is normally used when additional charges may be pending that will then determine the degree of felony. Jose R. Gonzales is believed to be armed with a .40 Caliber handgun and is considered dangerous. The shooting suspect was last seen driving a blue Ford Taurus, and is described as:
