A 17-year-old Jahziel Valenzo kills over girl in AzusaJune 6, 2010 CALIFORNIA FUGITIVE NEWS -- A conflict between two teenagers has left one dead, and another a fugitive for murder. The conflict is believed to have arisen over the fugitive's affections for an unnamed girl. Currently, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is seeking 17-year-old Jahziel Valenzo, a.k.a. "Smash" who is suspected of committing the homicide in Azusa, California, on May 10, 2010, which ended the life of 19-year-old Ramon Preciado. Suspected killer, Jahziel
Valenzo Allegedly, at approximately 8:45 a.m. Jahziel Valenzo and two other teenagers went to the backyard of an apartment building located at 603 N. Rockvale Avenue to find their victim, Ramon Preciado, standing with his friends. Valenzo then approached Preciado, and without any verbal communication, shot him three times, killing him at the scene. Both men are believed to have been graffiti street artists belonging to rival tagging crews. Meanwhile, the two other teenagers accompanying Valenzo have been arrested and charged with murder. Although the rivalry between the artists crews may have fueled the conflict between the two men, It should not be considered the motivating factor that caused Valenzo to shoot Preciado. The motivating trigger was the stress caused by his jealousy of the perception of a romantic relationship between Preciado and an unnamed girl whether true or fictitious. Bearing in mind, this is considered a personal cause homicide motivated by a conflict over the affections of the unnamed girl. It is likely that Valenzo's motivation for killing Preciado was an attempt to masculate himself. Even though the conflict between the two men is over, the stressor that drove Valenzo to commit the murder still exists. Valenzo believes he has been emasculated by the loss of the girl's affections to a rival. This angers Valenzo, who then seeks reassurance of his masculinity through acts of violence. Of course, this is only a hypothesis as to why Valenzo is motivated to commit murder. It should also be noted that Valenzo killed without empathy, and his actions where clearly premeditated. Therefore, the likelihood of Valenzo to commit another homicidal attack within the future is predictable. This clearly makes him a danger to all who come in contact with him. Jahziel Valenzo, a.k.a. "Smash" is described as:
Another possible obstacle in locating this fugitive may be the geographical area where this crime was committed. Azusa, is located on the edge of the Angeles National Forest, with a trailhead into the forest at the West Fork of the San Gabriel River. Furthermore, the access leads to Glenn Trail Camp, a non-fee campground. In all, the Angeles National Forest covers 655,702 acres of land. There are 59 developed campgrounds, and three nationally-designated wilderness areas, plenty of backwood remote areas for fugitives evading law enforcement to take refuge. Additionally, in 2009, the U.S. Forest Service had 34,250 employees in 750 locations. Of those employees, 737 were designated law enforcement personnel charged with the duty of protecting natural resources, Forest Service employees and visitors. Angeles National Forest has five ranger districts to cover 655,702 of land. That is 131140.4 acres per station. Although U.S. Forest Service law enforcement personnel diligently work to accomplish their mission, they are obviously undermanned to simultaneously conduct a fugitive manhunt. Undeniably, there are numerous scenarios as to the motivations for the cause of this conflict homicide, as there are numerous possible locations where this fugitive could be hiding. However, the more information willingly shared and developed will inevitably lead authorities to this fugitive's apprehension.
