New Mexico Murder Fugitive

Rafael Dominguez believed to be triggerman behind rival gang slaying in Santa Fe.

SANTA FE NEW MEXICO FUGITIVE NEWS -- A gang related murder occurring in Santa Fe, New Mexico has law enforcement searching for Rafael Dominguez. Now most wanted for the murder, Dominguez, is believed to be the triggerman behind the slaying of 18-year-old Gerald Viarrial after an exchange between rival gangs.

It is common knowledge that Santa Fe is occupied by numerous street gangs. However, the two controlling gangs are the West Side gangs and the Sureños 13. The West Side gangs wearing purple, consist of the following:

• Barrio West Side with their clique, Alto Park Thugs (APT)
• West Side 700 Block
• West Side Locos (WSL) with their clique, Mann St. (MST)

Meanwhile, the opposition for criminal control is the Sureños 13 wearing blue, who include the Mexican Locos Clique (MLC) and Mexican Clique Killers (MCK). The Sureños claim the Southside and Airport Road areas, such as Cottonwood Village Mobile Home Park.

On May 27, 2010, at approximately 6:05 p.m., Gerald Viarrial was driving with a passenger in the Cottonwood Village Mobile Home Park when he passed a Ford F-150 with his Toyota Camry. Someone inside each vehicle yelled their gang's name, "Sureño" and "Westside" therefore, marking the beginning of a gun battle between the two parties. Exchanging gunfire, the rear window of the Camry shattered and Viarrial was struck in the head by the shot. The Ford F-150, drove by the rival gang then sped away ending the gun battle.

When Santa Fe County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene, Gerald Viarrial was found dead still inside the Toyota Camry. Investigators later found the Ford F-150 pickup abandoned at the corner of Rufina Street and Joshua Lane. Investigators eventually determined that Rafael Dominguez and his accomplice, who is already in custody, was responsible for the shooting. Investigators further believe Dominguez may have fled to Mexico.
