Mederos is most wanted in Tacoma, Washington for the killing of Robert Tapia. As well the Tacoma Police have issued a warrant for Mederos for Murder in the Second Degree for the homicide, which occurred on October 20, 2006 at E. 36th Street and "K" Street. Jesus R. Second Degree Killer On October 20, 2006, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Robert Tapia was fatally shot by Jesus R. Mederos when the vehicle attempted to escape Mederos's gunfire. Tapia was a passenger in a vehicle driven by his girlfriend and was also a friend of Mederos. Afterward, Tapia's girlfriend drove the wounded man to Tacoma General Hospital where he later died of the gunshot to the torso. Additionally, there were reportedly six to eight persons surrounding the vehicle at the time of the shooting, and witnesses questioned identified Mederos as the shooter. However, motive for the shooting was unclear, or has not been released to the public. Jesus R. Mederos is described as short and stocky:
